I’ve been in the counselling and psychotherapy field in private practice for over 25 years – across Australia and the UK – and I know private practice inside out.
When I returned to Australia in 2006, I was told my approach – a long-term, therapeutic counselling and depth approach to psychotherapy – would never work here.
They were wrong!
With the support of my own private practice business coach and a lot of inner grit, I shifted my mindset and built a full, Medicare-free practice with a 10+ year waitlist (currently over 160 people waiting). I subsequently started the Trauma Warriors Trauma Therapist Directory to have somewhere to refer them!
Since then, I’ve gone on to:
